Happy new year to everyone who has followed Frankie’s journey on this blog, who have sent us messages of support and who have said to us we have been an inspiration to them. We are truly humbled by the amount of support and love we and Frankie has received, and now that 2014 is here the task of carrying on his memory and legacy has begun.
The website for the small charity my husband and I are setting up in his memory is now online – www.frankieslegacy.org.uk – and we will launch it properly in the new year. We have raised £927.65 for the Cleft Lip And Palate Association Charity, and hope to raise at least £1000 for them by the end of this month. I have lots more I want to write in this blog, and more that I want to do to raise awareness of cleft lip/palate, stillbirth and chromosome 15 duplication syndrome. My work is only just beginning.
But a change as they say is as good as a rest. And in order for me to have the strength and motivation to move onto the next part of my journey for Frankie, I am going away for a week with my husband to warmer climes. I will not be updating the blog while I’m away, but I will be doing some planning, making notes for things I want to write about and maybe even writing some of it ready to post when I get back.
We fly on Friday and we both can’t wait to have a break together, to have a proper rest and to plan our next steps for 2014. Until then, Happy New Year everyone, we hope that all your hopes and dreams come true this year.
