Lisa’s Blog

Faith By Rob Bristol

As many of you know who read this blog I write poetry in my spare time and I am the Founder and former Director of the Worcestershire Literary Festival (now Worcestershire Lit Fest & Fringe) which ran for the first time in 2011.  Poetry was a big part of the...

A Change Is As Good As A Rest

I’m back to updating this blog after a lovely week out in sunny Lanzarote.  It was my husband’s idea for us to go away as soon as possible once January 1st was here, and we flew out of the UK from Birmingham Airport on January 3rd.  When we landed in Lanzarote it was...

Happy New Year 🙂 xxx

Happy new year to everyone who has followed Frankie's journey on this blog, who have sent us messages of support and who have said to us we have been an inspiration to them.  We are truly humbled by the amount of support and love we and Frankie has received, and now...

Happy Birthday Frankie…One Month Today xxxx

One month ago today Frankie was born sleeping at 4.43am weighing 4lb 10oz.  I can’t believe a month has gone by already since he was born and I held him in my arms.  The pain of losing him is just as great and just as acute as it was then. We are still overwhelmed and...

Things I’ve Learnt Because Of Frankie

So Christmas has been and gone, and we all hope you had a lovely time and enjoyed the festive season with your loved ones with lots of food.   Despite the pain of losing Frankie which is still very acute we had a lovely Christmas being together and were very fortunate...

Memory Candles

Last night myself, my husband and my best friend lit memory candles in Frankie's room to mark Christmas Eve: It still hasn't fully sunk in that Frankie is in heaven with all the other angels.  It just doesn't seem fair, as I should still be pregnant now. We're trying...

Merry Christmas Everyone 🙂 xxx

I'm taking a day or two's break to try and make the best of Christmas this year with my husband, parents and some friends, as writing up everything that has happened in the last few weeks took a lot out of me. In the meantime we would like to wish you...

Life Will Never Be The Same Again: 17th to 21st December 2013

This picture of me and my husband was taken on the evening of Friday 20th December 2013 in Chesters Restaurant.  We thought that a night out with 3 of our close friends would do us the world of good, so I organised a night that we could all make and booked a table for...

Oh Come All Ye Faithful: 16th December 2013

I finally started to get really into the Christmas spirit when I went to not just one, but two carol services - one at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital led by Rev’d David Southall and the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber Of Commerce business community one at...

Coming Back To Earth: 13th to 15th December 2013

Continuing in the theme and spirit of “life goes on”, I decided to go to Bushwackers in town for my work Christmas do on December 13th.  I didn’t feel like it at all, but like everything else I decided to be brave and face it head on, and I was really glad I went. It...

Lisa Ventura MBE FCIIS – Frankie’s Mummy & Founder of Frankie’s Legacy

Frankie was a small pebble dropped into the lake of life…but his ripple will be felt forever…

My blog “Frankie’s Legacy: Love, Loss Grief & Recovery” focuses on raising awareness of early pregnancy loss, stillbirth, neonatal death, cleft lip/palate and rare chromosome disorders.

My much loved and much wanted son Francesco “Frankie” Enrico Ventura was born sleeping on 29/11/2013 and had a severe cleft lip/palate, talipes and an extremely rare chromosome disorder (chromosome 15 duplication syndrome).

This blog focuses on my journey as an empty armed mother, and about how I am surviving stillbirth, celebrating Frankie and creating his lasting legacy as best I can.

With much love,

Lisa Ventura MBE FCIIS
